About Gulp!

Gulp! Virtual Book Tour: Work Matters Radio

We're off now to Web Talk Radio for an interview with Nan Russell whose amazing personal story goes from being a minimum wage employee to the Vice President of a $4.4 billion dollar company.  She is the host of "Work Matters with Nan Russell" and she also writes a regular column called Winning at Work.  Nan is a fantastic interviewer and really asked questions that drilled down to the heart and soul of what Gulp! is all about.  In fact it was such a thought provoking interview that as soon as I put the phone down I was scribbling "notes to self" for about an hour - and I was the one being interviewed!

In The Face of A Challenge...

I always have believed that challenges are good.  .They are an opportunity to grow and learn.  They force you to step outside your comfort zone and stretch your vision of what is possible in your life.  They make you confront what’s not working in your life and they push you to reevaluate your priorities and what’s truly important.

Whether it's a career change, a lifestyle move, a relationship shift or fulfilling a deeply held dream - challenging ourselves makes us look deep within.  This can be incredibly scary as we come face to face with the fear of the unknown, the fear of failure or the fear of rejection.

The key thing is to remember that:

  1. We always have a choice.  Whatever the situation we’re facing, we can always choose how we react, what we think, what we believe and how we feel.

  1. Deep down we know what to do.  We are all blessed with an innate sense of wisdom and knowingness.  We just need to connect with our inner sage.

  1. The “impossible” can be possible.  When we extend the boundaries of what we consider “possible” in our own lives, miracles can truly happen.

That’s why at the heart of the Gulp! Philosophy is the importance of being able to calm the mind and build a strong inner core.  True inner power comes from your mind and body being aligned and in synch with your soul.

In the face of any challenge, this combination is formidable!

If you're facing a challenge at the moment and need a bit of wisdom, then think of a number between 1-30.  Go with the first one that springs to mind.

What new thoughts does this spark?

New Year's Greetings

125banner200_200reversed Happy New Year to you, and here's to an awesome 2008!

I'm getting the real sense of big change happening this year, not just for me but for others as well.  Maybe you've been feeling the same.  It's as if we've turned a corner and we're now facing completely fresh choices about the direction we want to take our life.

So do we leap forward, or shy away?

With any sort of change there comes three things:

1.  The fear of the unknown.

2.  The sadness at letting go of the old.

3.  That bubbling sense of anticipation that comes with embracing the new.

I call these the "trio of change".  My commitment to you in 2008 is to be a creative spark of inspiration and support to help you get through them. That's because when change knocks on your door, it's time to listen.

But I also know that it can be darn scary!  That's why for 2008 I've created a downloadable 30 Day One Big Gulp! Program for you.  Apart from being FREE - it's also fun and fabulous.  And it'll provide you with a roadmap and guidance on how you can move through your change - gracefully and effortlessly.

Start it today by signing up for it here. Get your friends and family involved and make 2008 the year you turn that corner.  I'll be working through it myself on my One Big Gulp! - so we'll be doing it together.

Special thanks to Victoria Wilkinson for her fantastic design work in bringing the One Big Gulp! eWorkbook to life. Thanks also to Janet Limb for reminding me to make it all FUN!
